The recent years I have shared with the percussion player Paoli M , which has toured with Santana. But this has been a sad event. RIP.

Fortunate to have been in the audience of many Santana shows through the 70's and 80's. Raul was smiling ear to ear every time I saw them. He had the most fun of anyone. RIP

Nadie como Amalia Mendoza un Orgullo Michoacano,así como las Gilguerillas,desde niño he escuchado esta música gracias a Mi Madre jamás conocí a la señora Amalia Mendoza,me quede con esa Ilucion,pero se que desde el Cielo sabe que soy su Fan número 1..señora hermosa se que en el cielo la veré algún día usted no puede dejarme con ese sueño de conocerla y que me cante con esa hermosa voz que Dios le regalo la amo le mando un besito hasta el Cielo seguro mi madre ya la conoció por que usted era su artista consentida 😂❤

I didnt know him from a ham sandwich......may he rest in paradise....but if you're a fan of Santana the band, there is NO WAY IN HELL, you're NOT a fan of Raul. His percussion playing, was literally the spine of that band. Watch a concert of theirs, and if you dont know Raul, all you gotta do is look for the cat with the big smile on his face. That's who is was. One of the great percussionists in the music industry...along with Paulinho da Costa, hands down.

He said in his book he kicked a woman in the head to get her off the stage at the 1969 Altamont concert! Claims he hates bullies but did this...go figure. I will say the man had intelligence. He seemed to have mellowed out in his later years.
